UofS Fall 2017 Game Jam keeps up the tradition of jamming out great games
The University of Saskatchewan bi-annual Game Jam was once again a huge success. This event is open to the community and we had 58 participants (not including a team of volunteers) that produced 19 games over a 48 hour period. That’s a lot of games and a lot of junk food! In addition to tutorials, lunch time talks and volunteer experts, a key note address was given by Dr. Jeff Long of the University of Saskatchewan entitled “The Hardest Problem Game Companies Don’t Solve”. The talk described AI and showed how game companies don’t really try to solve AI in games, discussed the difficulty of AI and postulated whether AI is actually something we want in games. Congratulations to event organizers and all the winners in the various categories. You can see a complete list of games and awards here http://gamewithus.ca/.
